Bozeman failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Helena shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-1.

Helena had gotten the advantage when Bozeman's Elliott Hopkins was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Jay Forbes provided the assist.

Helena put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bozeman to score on any of its seven power plays. Helena's offense rang up 33 shots on Bozeman's net.

Bozeman was led by Kegan Couture, who scored the team's only goal. Couture scored 14:39 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Helena. Gunnar Mogck picked up the assist.
