Twin City had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 11-4 win over Chicago.

Twin City pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 39 penalty minutes.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 14:29 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Twin City forced Chicago's goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 70 shots and forcing 59 saves. Dalton Baker made 32 stops and Jimmy Smith made 27. Twin City's goal total was higher than its season average. Twin City averages 5.0 goals per game.

Twin City was led by Joe Costello, who registered two goals and two assists. Costello scored the first of his two goals at 54 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Twin City. Chad Carney picked up the assist. Costello's next tally made the score 10-4 Twin City with 6:32 left in the third period. Ben Hersman assisted on the tally. Twin City additionally got points from Zak Lambrecht, who also had one goal and three assists, Kyle Wagner, who also racked up two goals and three assists to lead the team in points, Fritz Belisle, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Nicholas Campbell, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Tristan Mayer, who also had two goals and one assist. Twin City also had goals scored by Ryan Hartzell and James Hale, who each put in one. More assists for Twin City came via Cory Martinez, who had two, Alex Egle, who had three, and Paul Stehr, Jared Erickson, and Bennett Witta, who contributed one each.

Chicago put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Twin City to score on any of its three power plays. Chicago's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Twin City's Jon Albers stopped 21 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Twin City ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Egle was ejected from the game. Chicago totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. For Chicago, Niko Moulakelis was ejected from the game.
