Toledo tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but Pittsburgh would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Pittsburgh made the score 3-1 on a goal by Joshua Butterworh at 12:27 in the second period, and Toledo got as close as 3-2 when Isaiah Crawford scored 9:12 into the third period. Pittsburgh was led by Connor Ackerman, who had one goal and one assist. Ackerman scored 19:52 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Pittsburgh. Vincent Casale assisted on the tally. Pittsburgh additionally got points from Nicholas Lyon, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Butterworh, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Pittsburgh also got a goal from Darrien Sroka as well. More assists for Pittsburgh came via Perry Shiring, James Stiles, and Gavin Cummings, who contributed one each. Toledo kept Pittsburgh's goalie busy throughout the game, and Marcus Gloss made 40 saves on 43 shots. Toledo was led by Alec Walny, who registered two goals. Walny scored the first of his two goals at 5:59 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Isaac Culbert picked up the assist. Walny's next tally made the score 3-3 with 9:06 left in the third period. Nick Nappi assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Toledo were Josh Smith, Tyler Zalecki, Nolan Stanley, and Darryl Kuchcinski, who each chipped in one. Pittsburgh ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. Toledo's Glen Bates stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced.
