Early goals doom Southern Tier, falls to Metro, 6-0Jamestown Sat, Oct 17, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Metro jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Southern Tier, 6-0. Kameron Limburg frustrated Southern Tier's offense all game, and stopped 25 shots en route to a shutout. Limburg certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.73 entering the contest. Kevin Shand had one goal and three assists to lead Metro. Shand scored 46 seconds into the second period to make the score 5-0 Metro. Mathias Tellstrom provided the assist. Metro forced Southern Tier's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 58 shots and forcing 52 saves. Cody Gibson made 22 stops and Ryan Pascarella made 30. Metro excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Metro's defense was surprisingly good. Metro allows 2.1 goals per game. Metro also got points from Spencer Graham, who also registered one goal and one assist and Chase Sereno, who also had one goal and one assist. Metro also had goals scored by Michael Tratar, Tyler Camposano, and Chas Distelrath, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Marc Schwartz, Pearce Vance, Jacob Gleason, Robert Flannery, and Jacob Rutkoske, who contributed one each. Southern Tier stifled Metro's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Metro incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Southern Tier incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
