Point Mallard survived a determined comeback attempt by St. Louis on the way to a 5-4 win.

A goal by Jake Cox put Point Mallard up 3-1 in the third period, but St. Louis pulled to within one on Frankie Melton's tally 11:36 into the third period.

Josh Hamilton had a great game for Point Mallard, netting two goals. Hamilton found the back of the net 7:45 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 19:12 into the third to make the score 5-4 Point Mallard.

Point Mallard forced St. Louis goalie Zach Young to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Point Mallard also got points from Cox, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Justin Dunn, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Cody LaValley, Stephen Coulter, Matt Goodman, and Cameron Hamblett, who contributed one each and Zachary Bennett and Cody Thomas, who each chipped in two.

St. Louis' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Point Mallard power plays. St. Louis kept Point Mallard's goalie busy throughout the game, and Josh Martin made 31 saves on 35 shots.

St. Louis also had goals scored by Daniel Dunaway and Eduard Rumyantsev, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Louis came via Dominic Caito, Tomas Loeffelman, Austin Dempski, and Cameron McAtee, who contributed one each and Zach Mitchell and Hayden Smer, who each chipped in two.

Point Mallard ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. St. Louis' Young stopped 39 shots out of the 44 that he faced. St. Louis incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
