Mains stymies Chicago, Rochester wins 3-1

Zach Mains stood on his head and made 32 saves to lead Rochester to a 3-1 victory over Chicago.

Rochester was sparked by Evan Sabo, who finished with one goal. Sabo scored 14:59 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Rochester. Dan Trageser picked up the assist.

Rochester stifled Chicago's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Chicago was unable to stop Rochester from sending pucks towards the net, and Rochester eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

Rochester also got points from Colby DeCarlo, who also had one goal and one assist. Jiri Trubacik also scored for Rochester. Other players who recorded assists for Rochester were Hunter Heightland and Nick Paulson, who each chipped in one.

Chicago forced Rochester goalie Mains to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Chicago was led by Scott Coash Jr., who scored the team's only goal. Coash Jr. scored 11:58 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Chicago. Stefan Vlad assisted on the tally.

Rochester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Dalton Baker made 46 saves for Chicago on 48 shots. Chicago incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
