Rochester erases deficit to stun Chicago, 7-6

Rochester rallied from three goals down to secure a 7-6 win over Chicago.

Rochester let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a three hole to pick up the win. Rochester took a 6-5 advantage on a goal by Griffen Buck at 15:18 in the third period. Rochester found itself down 4-1 after Chicago's Timothy Hoffenkamp put the puck home on the power play at 12:21 in the second period. After evening things up at 6-6 on a goal by Philip Grippi at 17:38 in the third, Rochester got the game-winner from Jiri Trubacik at 19:18 in the third period.

Rochester was paced on offense by Nick Paulson and Trubacik, who combined for eight points. Paulson registered one goal and four assists and Trubacik also notched two goals and one assist.

Rochester forced Chicago goalie Alec Paloumpis to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Rochester found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Rochester averages 3.8 goals per game.

Rochester additionally got points from Jon Roth, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Trubacik, who also had two goals and one assist. Rochester also had goals scored by Hunter Heightland and Dan Trageser, who each put in one. In addition, Rochester received assists from Colby DeCarlo, who had one and Dominik Bogdzuil, Jake Kelly, and Evan Sabo, who each chipped in two.

Chicago's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, Chicago averages 2.0 goals per contest. Chicago struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 32 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Chicago was led by Scott Coash Jr., who racked up two goals and two assists. Coash Jr. scored the first of his two goals at 2:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chicago. Stefan Vlad picked up the assist. Coash Jr.'s next tally made the score 5-3 Chicago with 54 seconds left in the second period. Noah Mackie provided the assist. Chicago also got points from Hoffenkamp, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Matt Bukovsky, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Chicago also got a goal from Anthony Podder as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chicago were Eric Arrigo, who had one.

Rochester took out Sam Nelson after he had made 12 saves and installed Zach Mains in goal, where he finished with seven saves and the win. Rochester incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Alec Paloumpis made 33 saves for Chicago on 40 shots. Chicago registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
