Metro rolls over Wooster, 5-1

Metro had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over Wooster.

Metro was led by goalie Trevor Kalinowski, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Kalinowski will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.97 entering the contest.

Metro was sparked by Chase Sereno, who had one goal. Sereno scored 19:09 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Metro. Devin Kelly assisted on the tally.

Metro's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Wooster power plays. Metro forced Wooster goalie Ryan Spencer to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Metro also had goals scored by Michael Tratar, Jason Newel, Matt Dempsey, and Kevin Shand, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Mark Vansaw, Cam Schwartz, Pearce Vance, Jacob Gleason, Jacob Drinkard, Robert Flannery, and Dylan Naumovski, who contributed one each.

Wooster's offense rang up 32 shots on Metro's net.

Wooster was led by Mike Zenone, who scored the team's only goal. Zenone scored 5:48 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Metro. Jason Watts picked up the assist.

Metro incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ryan Spencer made 33 saves for Wooster on 38 shots. Wooster incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
