Bozeman survived a determined comeback attempt by Yellowstone on the way to a 4-3 win.

Bozeman made the score 3-1 on a goal by Kyle Amundson at 19:34 in the second period, and Yellowstone got as close as 3-2 when Nick Green scored 3:34 into the third period.

Steven Nisbet had two goals to lead Bozeman to victory. Nisbet scored at 21 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bozeman and again while on the power play 19:12 into the third to make the score 4-3 Bozeman.

Bozeman forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 11 minors and one major for 57 minutes in penalty time. Bozeman surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. Bozeman stifled Yellowstone's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Bozeman also got points from Nicholas Thompson, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Bozeman came via Gunnar Mogck, who had two and Kyle Klatt, Elliott Hopkins, Dylan Michaud, and John Dixon, who each chipped in one.

Bozeman was unable to stop Yellowstone from sending pucks towards the net, and Yellowstone eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. Yellowstone's power play unit failed to produce, and was held to zero goals on 11 chances.

Yellowstone was helped by Nick Ligocki, who tallied one goal. Ligocki scored 19:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Bozeman. Tony Dahlberg assisted on the tally. Yellowstone additionally got points from Max Doner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.

Stephen Frank rejected 44 shots on goal for Bozeman. Bozeman registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Bozeman ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brock Loser was ejected from the game. Lance Knudson made 22 saves for Yellowstone on 26 shots. Yellowstone ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major.
