Texas falls to Point Mallard in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Point Mallard's Josh Hamilton scored 3:18 into overtime to beat Texas, 4-3 (OT).

Point Mallard overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Point Mallard was down 3-1 after a goal by Texas' Kyle Galloway at 9:52 in the second period. Point Mallard tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Jake Champaign at 19:17 in the third period.

Justin Dunn had one goal and two assists to lead Point Mallard. Dunn scored 4:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Point Mallard. Jake Cox provided the assist.

Point Mallard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Point Mallard forced Texas goalie Brandon Perrone to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Point Mallard also got points from Hamilton, who also had one goal and one assist. Justin Delisle also scored for Point Mallard. More assists for Point Mallard came via Justin Clark, who had two.

Texas' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Texas averages 1.8 goal allowed per game.

Texas also got a goal from Dakota Davis as well. In addition, Texas received assists from Matt Araujo, Kyle Torgerson, Niklas McCallum, Garrett Culps, and Mykyta Sheptytsky, who contributed one each.

Cooper Seedott recorded 22 saves for Point Mallard. Point Mallard incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brandon Perrone made 36 saves for Texas on 40 shots. Texas incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
