Breezy Point blows out Minnesota, 5-1

Breezy Point had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over Minnesota.

Breezy Point was led by goalie Wes Paupore, who finished with 33 saves while allowing one goal. Paupore managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.04 prior to the game.

Ryan Mezera had two goals to lead Breezy Point to victory. Mezera found the back of the net 1:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Breezy Point and again while 13:58 into the third to make the score 5-0 Breezy Point.

Breezy Point stifled Minnesota's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Breezy Point additionally got points from Austin Langworthy, who also registered one goal and one assist and Josh Laven, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Breezy Point were Cory Dennis, Jake Tomkowiak, and Sam Zietara, who contributed one each.

Minnesota excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Minnesota's offense rang up 34 shots on Breezy Point's net.

Breezy Point incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Quinn Huff rejected 25 shots on goal for Minnesota. Minnesota incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Minnesota ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Lucas Mickelson was ejected from the game.
