Laven's goals lift Breezy Point to 6-3 victory over Rochester

Josh Laven had four goals to lead Breezy Point to a 6-3 victory over Rochester.

Laven's first goal came 17:33 into the second period. He then added goals at 2:34 into the third, at 14:38 into the third, and at 18:37 into the third.

Rochester's power play was ineffective against Breezy Point's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Breezy Point stifled Rochester's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Breezy Point's offense rang up 34 shots on Rochester's net. Breezy Point found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Breezy Point averages 3.0 goals per contest. Breezy Point could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

Breezy Point also got points from Jake Tomkowiak, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Nick Reed also scored for Breezy Point. In addition, Breezy Point received assists from Torin Foundos and Christian Meisinger, who contributed one each.

Rochester kept Breezy Point's goalie busy throughout the game, and Wes Paupore made 32 saves on 35 shots. Rochester found itself short handed often, totaling 52 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

Rochester was helped by Evan Sabo, who had one goal. Sabo scored 37 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Rochester. Dominik Bogdzuil picked up the assist. Rochester also had goals scored by Jiri Trubacik and Nick Paulson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Rochester came via Jake Kelly, who had one.

Sam Nelson made 28 saves for Rochester on 33 shots. For Rochester, Trey McMillen was ejected from the game.
