Minnesota uses shootout to best Breezy Point, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Minnesota defeated Breezy Point in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured 12 attempts between both teams. Breezy Point's shootout goal was scored by Tyler Larwood. Minnesota's other shootout goal was scored by Jacob Aberwald.

Minnesota overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Minnesota fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Breezy Point's Josh Laven at 19:54 in the first period. Minnesota tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Alec Skar at 7:33 in the second period.

With three goals and two assists between them, Skar and Jace Cseter teamed up to power Minnesota's offense. Skar had two goals and Cseter also added one goal and two assists.

Minnesota kept Breezy Point's goalie busy throughout the game, and Wes Paupore made 29 saves on 33 shots.

Minnesota also got points from Cseter, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Minnesota came via Aberwald and Ty Ennis, who contributed one each.

Minnesota was unable to stop Breezy Point from sending pucks towards the net, and Breezy Point eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

Breezy Point also got a goal from Sean Viti as well. In addition, Breezy Point received assists from Cory Dennis, who had two and Billy Nichol and Austin Langworthy, who each chipped in one.

Dakota McDonald recorded 44 saves for Minnesota. Minnesota incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Breezy Point incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
