Snyder's big game bests Wooster in 6-3 Toledo win

Tristin Snyder had two goals and three assists to lead Toledo to a 6-3 victory over Wooster.

Snyder found the back of the net 3:05 into the second period to make the score 4-0 Toledo and again while on the power play 10:44 into the second to make the score 5-1 Toledo.

Wooster fell victim to a deadly Toledo power play, which ripped Wooster for four goals.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 14:05 into the third period. Nine fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

Toledo's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Wooster power plays. Toledo was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled seven minors and two majors for 44 minutes in penalty time.

Toledo additionally got points from David Bogart, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ricky Kwapich, who also finished with two goals and two assists. Alec Walny also scored for Toledo. More assists for Toledo came via Tyler Zalecki, who had two and Austin Turner, who had four.

Wooster racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and four majors for 80 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 64.0 minutes per game Wooster had been spending in the box.

Wooster was led by Rubin Chavarria, who registered two goals and one assist. Chavarria scored the first of his two goals short handed at 9:37 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Toledo. Wooster was on a disadvantage when Brad Delenko went off the ice for cross checking. Zach Bilius picked up the assist. Chavarria's next tally short handed made the score 6-3 Toledo with 3:28 left in the third period. Wooster found itself down a man on Steven Frankel's fighting. Will Schober provided the assist. Wooster also got a goal from Tyler Crites as well. In addition, Wooster received assists from Jason Watts and Brandon Scholze, who each chipped in one.

Glen Bates rejected 20 shots on goal for Toledo. Toledo ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ben Hamilton was ejected from the game. Ryan Spencer took the loss and made 12 saves before being replaced by Steven Schmitt who made 10 saves. Team's Scholze, Frankel, and Delenko were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
