Barber's hat trick boosts Pittsburgh over Cincinnati, 6-2

Ryker Barber lifted Pittsburgh to a 6-2 victory with a hat trick against Cincinnati.

Barber notched his first tally 15:03 into the first period. He then added goals at 36 seconds into the second and at 4:10 into the second.

Pittsburgh forced Cincinnati's goalies to work in net, totaling 35 shots and forcing 29 saves. Brian Tempel made 26 stops and Daniel Dolliver made three. Pittsburgh put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cincinnati to score on any of its three power plays.

Pittsburgh also got points from Nicholas Lyon, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Cameron Smith, who also had one goal and one assist. Pittsburgh also got a goal from Joshua Butterworh as well. More assists for Pittsburgh came via James Unger, who had two, Auston Palumbo, who had three, and James Stiles and Kenny White, who contributed one each.

Cincinnati was helped by Cobin Sanborn, who finished with one goal. Sanborn scored 1:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cincinnati. Marc Anderson also scored for Cincinnati. Other players who recorded assists for Cincinnati were Brenden Williams, who had one.

Jacob Stack recorded 23 saves for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cincinnati incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
