Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) survives penalties, beats San Jose Jr. Sharks (MM), 5-2

San Jose Jr. Sharks (MM) failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) shook off a number of penalties to win, 5-2.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) forced San Jose Jr. Sharks (MM)'s goalies to work without much rest, taking 33 shots and forcing 28 saves. Morgan Kelly made 28 stops and Noel Zuccaro made zero. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM)'s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven San Jose Jr. Sharks (MM) power plays. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) was led by Andre Ghantous, who tallied two goals. Ghantous scored the first of his two goals at 2:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM). Matthew Poindexter assisted on the tally. Ghantous' next tally made the score 4-1 Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) with 5:10 left in the second period. Justin Driffill picked up the assist.
