Logan Coomes had one goal and two assists to lead the Fairbanks Ice Dogs to a 6-2 victory over the Kenai River Brown Bears.

Coomes scored short handed 13:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fairbanks. Fairbanks was on a disadvantage when Clay Cross went off the ice for holding. Todd Burgess picked up the assist. Coomes dished an assist on Burgess' goal that made the score 4-0 Fairbanks at 3:00 into the second period. He added another helper on Ryner Gorowsky's goal that made the score 6-0 Fairbanks at 8:52 into the second period.

The Ice Dogs were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game Fairbanks had been spending in the box. The Ice Dogs forced Kenai River's goaltenders to work between the pipes, getting 36 shots and forcing 30 saves. Nicholas Nast made 12 stops and Brian Baker made 18.
