St. Louis Selects 16U squeaks by Pursuit of Excellence 16U, 3-2

The game between St. Louis Selects 16U and Pursuit of Excellence 16U was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end St. Louis Selects 16U emerged with a 3-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Joshua Boyer's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

St. Louis Selects 16U's penalty kill excelled, as St. Louis Selects 16U gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

St. Louis Selects 16U was sparked by Boyer, who racked up one goal. Boyer scored 15:34 into the third period to make the score 3-2 St. Louis Selects 16U. Cole Cutler picked up the assist.

St. Louis Selects 16U stifled Pursuit of Excellence 16U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pursuit of Excellence 16U was unable to stop St. Louis Selects 16U from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Louis Selects 16U eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. St. Louis Selects 16U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.
