Meijer AAA 16U hangs on, beats Pikes Peak Miners 16U 2-0

Meijer AAA 16U took the lead against Pikes Peak Miners 16U in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-0 victory.

A goal 9:18 into the first period by Alex Schneider proved to be the game winner, and powered Meijer AAA 16U to the victory. Dominic Perrone assisted on the tally.

Meijer AAA 16U was paced by Schneider, who racked up one goal.

Meijer AAA 16U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pikes Peak Miners 16U to score on any of its four power plays. Meijer AAA 16U was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. Meijer AAA 16U averages 2.2 goals allowed per game.
