CYA 16U rips St. Louis Selects 16U, 4-0

CYA 16U had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over St. Louis Selects 16U.

Kacper Ryba was all over the ice for CYA 16U, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Ryba scored 11:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 CYA 16U. Ean Small picked up the assist.

CYA 16U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Louis Selects 16U to score on any of its three power plays. CYA 16U featured an improved defense during the game. CYA 16U gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. CYA 16U got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. CYA 16U's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as CYA 16U finished with 24 penalty minutes.

CYA 16U also got points from Jimmy Glynn, who also registered one goal and one assist. CYA 16U also had goals scored by Brett Tierney and Mike Heneghan, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for CYA 16U were Matthew Smoliga, who had one.
