Rowan's big game bests Team Illinois 16U in 5-1 Little Caesars 16U win

Behind a great game by Hayden Rowan, who had two goals and one assist, Little Caesars 16U defeated Team Illinois 16U, 5-1.

Rowan scored at 2:08 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Little Caesars 16U and again while 8:12 into the second to make the score 4-0 Little Caesars 16U.

Little Caesars 16U's penalty kill excelled, as Little Caesars 16U gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Little Caesars 16U also got a goal from Thomas Wray as well. More assists for Little Caesars 16U came via Xan Gurney and Ben Badalamenti, who each chipped in one and Logan Pietila, Ben Eckerle, and Paul Cotter, who contributed two each.

Team Illinois 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Little Caesars 16U's defense shut down Team Illinois 16U's forwards for much of the game, and Team Illinois 16U got off only 10 shots during the contest.

Blake Pietila recorded nine saves for Little Caesars 16U. Little Caesars 16U incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jeremy Forman made 15 saves for Team Illinois 16U on 20 shots. Team Illinois 16U incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
