Compuware 16U holds on for 3-2 win against Esmark Stars 16U

Esmark Stars 16U tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but Compuware 16U would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Matt Stoia put Compuware 16U up 3-1 in the second period, but Esmark Stars 16U pulled to within one on Andrew Wells's tally 4:41 into the third period.

Compuware 16U was led by Stoia, who racked up one goal and one assist. Stoia scored on the power play 13:45 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Compuware 16U. Compuware 16U had gotten the advantage when Esmark Stars 16U's Evan Erdmann was sent off for hooking. Blade Jenkins provided the assist.

Esmark Stars 16U was unable to stop Compuware 16U from sending pucks towards the net, and Compuware 16U eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Compuware 16U capitalized on Esmark Stars 16U's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage. Compuware 16U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game.

Compuware 16U also had goals scored by Jack Rudin and Pavel Kharin, who scored one goal each. In addition, Compuware 16U received assists from Hugh Larkin, who had one and Tony Malinowski, who had two.

Esmark Stars 16U was helped by Sean Traynor, who tallied one goal. Traynor scored on the power play 16:43 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A head contact penalty on Danny Overcash had put Esmark Stars 16U on the power play. Erdmann picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Esmark Stars 16U were Alex Singley, Nicholas Carretta, and Christian Gorscak, who each chipped in one.

Joshua Pack rejected 20 shots on goal for Compuware 16U. Jake Kucharski recorded 31 saves for Esmark Stars 16U. Esmark Stars 16U incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
