Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as CYA 16U defeated Little Caesars 16U in a shootout 4-3.

The shootout featured nine attempts between both teams. Little Caesars 16U's shootout goal was scored by Hayden Rowan. In addition to the clincher, CYA 16U got shootout goals from Kacper Ryba and Jimmy Glynn.

In the losing effort, Little Caesars 16U was led by Rowan, who had two goals. Rowan scored the first of his two goals at 50 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 CYA 16U. Dustin Manz provided the assist. Rowan's next tally made the score 2-2 with 15:36 left in the third period. Logan Pietila picked up the assist.

CYA 16U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Little Caesars 16U power plays.

CYA 16U was helped by Ean Small, who finished with one goal. Small scored 4:35 into the first period to make the score 2-0 CYA 16U. Glynn provided the assist. CYA 16U additionally got points from Glynn, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Alec Stacy also scored for CYA 16U. In addition, CYA 16U received assists from Ryan Walsh, Colin Cromie, Tyler Maggio, and Austin Eng, who contributed one each.

Little Caesars 16U forced CYA 16U goalie Miles Corrigan to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Little Caesars 16U's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Little Caesars 16U is averaging 1.8 goal against for the season.

Little Caesars 16U also got a goal from Paul Cotter as well. More assists for Little Caesars 16U came via Thomas Wray and Christian Krygier, who each chipped in one.

Corrigan recorded 35 saves for CYA 16U. CYA 16U incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Blake Pietila made 17 saves for Little Caesars 16U on 20 shots. Little Caesars 16U incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
