Washington Little Capitals 18U survives Pursuit of Excellence 18U comeback, wins 5-4

Pursuit of Excellence 18U tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Washington Little Capitals 18U would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

Washington Little Capitals 18U made the score 5-2 on a goal by Ryan Leibold at 2:58 in the third period, and Pursuit of Excellence 18U got as close as 5-4 when Ty Pochipinski scored 14:22 into the third period.

Washington Little Capitals 18U got the win with help from a great game by Cade Groton, who had one goal and three assists. Groton scored on the power play 14:43 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Washington Little Capitals 18U. Washington Little Capitals 18U had taken the advantage when Pursuit of Excellence 18U's Wyatt McLeod got sent off for slashing. Leibold picked up the assist.
