Minnesota Magicans 18U uses shootout to best Pursuit of Excellence 18U, 4-3

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Minnesota Magicans 18U defeated Pursuit of Excellence 18U in a shootout 4-3.

The shootout lasted for nine attempts between the teams. Pursuit of Excellence 18U got a shootout goal from Brandyn Howg. Minnesota Magicans 18U's other shootout goal was scored by Jake Thomas.

Minnesota Magicans 18U overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Minnesota Magicans 18U was down 3-2 after a goal by Pursuit of Excellence 18U's Adam Kusior at 7:50 in the second period. Minnesota Magicans 18U tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Garret Jagoe at 9:31 in the third period.

Minnesota Magicans 18U kept Pursuit of Excellence 18U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Marshall made 28 saves on 32 shots.

Others who scored for Minnesota Magicans 18U included Jory McWilliams and Eric Otto, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Minnesota Magicans 18U were Ryan Murray and Zach Buesgens, who contributed one each.
