CYA 18U blows out Little Caesars 18U, 4-1

CYA 18U had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over Little Caesars 18U.

CYA 18U was led by Taylor Papesh, who racked up one goal. Papesh scored 9:00 into the first period to make the score 2-1 CYA 18U. Samuel Sterne assisted on the tally.

CYA 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Little Caesars 18U to score on any of its four power plays. CYA 18U did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 10 saves. CYA 18U got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Others who scored for CYA 18U included Kevin Cooley, Chrisopher Marston, and Nathan Springberg, who each put in one. In addition, CYA 18U received assists from Gavin Proeh, who had two and Jack Greenberg and Brian Sanzone, who each chipped in one.

Little Caesars 18U was led by Kevin Fees, who scored the team's only goal. Fees scored 2:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Spencer Stanley picked up the assist.
