Minnesota Magicans 18U beats Rocky Mountain Roughriders 18U 2-1 after comeback scare

Minnesota Magicans 18U survived a determined comeback attempt by Rocky Mountain Roughriders 18U on the way to a 2-1 win.

Minnesota Magicans 18U made the score 2-0 on a goal by Tucker Bjorlin at 16:21 in the second period, and Rocky Mountain Roughriders 18U got as close as 2-1 when John Kiernan scored 16:05 into the third period.

Minnesota Magicans 18U was paced by Bjorlin, who tallied one goal.

Minnesota Magicans 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rocky Mountain Roughriders 18U to score on any of its three power plays. Minnesota Magicans 18U forced Rocky Mountain Roughriders 18U goalie Zack LaRocque to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.
