The Ohio Machine could not stop the Rochester Rattlers' Kevin Rice, who tallied a hat trick in a 12-8 win. Rice got on the scoresheet 11:33 into the 2nd quarter. Then added goal at 1:56 into the 3rd and at 10:47 into the 3rd. Rochester kept Ohio's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brian Phipps made nine saves on 21 shots. Rochester additionally got points from Kyle Denhoff, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jordan MacIntosh, who also registered one goal and two assists, Randy Staats, who also registered two goals and one assist and Mark Matthews, who also registered two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Rochester included John Ranagan, who had two and Dave Lawson, who had one.
