Syracuse erases deficit to stun Lockport, 5-4

Syracuse rallied from three goals down to secure a 5-4 win over Lockport.

Syracuse never led in the game until netting the game winner. Syracuse fell behind 4-1 after a goal by Lockport's Andrew Logar at 9:36 in the second period. Syracuse tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Nate Walker at 10:37 in the third period. Syracuse netted the game winner on the power play at 16:53 in the third period on a goal by Walker.

Syracuse bested its season scoring average. Syracuse has scored at the pace of 2.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Syracuse's penalty kill unit could not stop Lockport's power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

Syracuse was led by Raymond Rowe, who registered three goals. Nicholas Mandia also scored for Syracuse. More assists for Syracuse came via Dan Buehler, who had two and Kelsey Head, Tucker Bartenslager, Brendan Sand, Ryan Gilroy, Richard Hart, Rocco DeRollo, and Ludovic Scott, who contributed one each.

Lockport kept Syracuse's goalie busy throughout the game, and Timothy Evans made 33 saves on 37 shots.

Lockport was helped by Mark Friol, who tallied one goal. Friol scored on the power play 12:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lockport. Lockport had gotten the advantage when Syracuse's Head was sent off for tripping. Peter Guido picked up the assist. Lockport additionally got points from Jordan Pocobello, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Logar, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Lockport also got a goal from Gibson Stuart as well. In addition, Lockport received assists from Kurt Villani, Devin Kasperek, and Christopher Gasiewicz, who each chipped in one.

Syracuse incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Sal Stalteri recorded 22 saves for Lockport. Lockport incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
