Jimmy Warrick netted a hat trick to lead New York over Skylands, 12-6.

Warrick notched his first tally 9:11 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:17 into the first and at 11:42 into the third.

New York forced Skylands' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 60 shots and forcing 48 saves. Evan Barghout made 22 stops and Ryan Bartholomew made 26. New York found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, New York averages 5.1 goals per contest. New York's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. New York was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 24 penalty minutes.

Skylands managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Skylands ended up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. New York was unable to stop Skylands from sending pucks towards the net, and Skylands eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

Skylands was led by Alex Linquito, who finished with two goals and three assists. Linquito scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 9:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 New York. A tripping penalty on Corey Rees had put Skylands on the power play. Linquito's next tally on the power play made the score 11-6 New York with 3:41 left in the third period. Skylands had gotten the advantage when New York's Rojas was sent off for tripping.
