Roc City boosted by Stahl's play in net, beats Syracuse 4-1Lakeshore Arena Fri, Feb 19, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Ian Stahl helped Roc City defeat Syracuse, 4-1. Roc City pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 20 penalty minutes. Roc City was led by Cory Della Stua, who finished with one goal. Della Stua scored 10:06 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Roc City. Matt Corey assisted on the tally. Roc City's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Syracuse power plays. Roc City kept Syracuse's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kyle VanWagner made 31 saves on 35 shots. Roc City also got points from Brandon Corey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Roc City included Cameron Clark and Sam Cammilleri, who each put in one. More assists for Roc City came via Jared Tam-Grimshaw, who had one and Aidan Conolly, who had three. Syracuse was led by Kelsey Head, who scored the team's only goal. Head scored 31 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Syracuse. Rocco DeRollo picked up the assist. Ian Stahl made 25 saves for Roc City on 26 shots. Roc City registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Syracuse incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
