Skylands tried to dig itself out of a four-goal hole, but Cape Cod held on for a 5-3 victory. Cape Cod made the score 4-0 on a goal by Karl-Eric Demers at 15:52 in the second period, and Skylands got as close as 4-2 when Hunter Ledwith scored 7:45 into the third period. Skylands' power play was ineffective against Cape Cod's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Cape Cod excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Cape Cod kept Skylands' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Bartholomew made 40 saves on 45 shots. Cape Cod was led by Brendan Sullivan, who tallied one goal and one assist. Sullivan scored on the power play 13:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cape Cod. Cape Cod had gotten the advantage when Skylands' Ernest Komarnitskii was sent off for interference. Eric Szeker picked up the assist. Cape Cod additionally got points from Dan Moore, who also had one goal and one assist. Cape Cod also had goals scored by Steven Mathews and Maxime Dordet, who each put in one. In addition, Cape Cod received assists from Zack Goodman, Max Campbell, Mike Jessman, Chris ODonnell, and Joe Brennan, who contributed one each. Skylands could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game. Skylands was helped by Alex Linquito, who grabbed one goal. More assists for Skylands came via Cole Skelly, Nicholas King, and Alec Sanchez, who each chipped in one. Steven Schmitt made 23 saves for Cape Cod on 26 shots.
