Corey's goals lift Roc City to 5-1 victory over Syracuse

Brandon Corey was all over the ice for Roc City, as he tallied two goals in Roc City's 5-1 win over Syracuse.

Corey scored at 13:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Roc City and again while 1:00 into the second to make the score 2-0 Roc City.

Syracuse was stymied by Roc City's netminder Ian Stahl, who stopped 34 shots during the victory. The solid play of Stahl will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 4.64.

Roc City forced Syracuse's goalies to work without much rest, finishing with 37 shots and forcing 32 saves. Kyle VanWagner made 26 stops and Timothy Evans made six.

Roc City also got points from Sam Cammilleri, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Roc City included Robert Vasta and Justin Allen, who scored one goal each. In addition, Roc City received assists from Nicholas Cignarale and Sam Haile, who contributed one each and Cameron Clark, Joseph Gardner, and Anthony DePetres, who each chipped in two.

Syracuse's offense rang up 35 shots on Roc City's net.

Syracuse was led by Christian Paradiso, who scored the team's only goal. Paradiso scored short handed 12:35 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Roc City. Syracuse found itself down a man on Nicholas Mandia's hooking.

Roc City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Syracuse incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
