Jersey Shore rips New England, 5-1Cornerstone Arena-Heinrich Sat, Jan 30, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Jersey Shore had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over New England. Jared Karas had a great game for Jersey Shore, netting two goals. Karas found the back of the net 6:41 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Jersey Shore and again while short handed 9:09 into the third to make the score 4-1 Jersey Shore. Jersey Shore was led by goalie Scott Albertoni, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Albertoni certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.88 entering the contest. New England was unable to stop Jersey Shore from sending pucks towards the net, and Jersey Shore eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Jersey Shore could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 50 minutes in penalties during the game. Jersey Shore also got points from Scott Hansen, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Bogdan Khvatov, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jersey Shore also got a goal from Travis Valvo as well. In addition, Jersey Shore received assists from Frederic Ampleman, who had two and Christian Cooley and John Rubin, who contributed one each. New England excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. New England could not produce up to its normal offensive output. New England puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. New England's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. New England is averaging 2.5 goals against for the season. New England was led by Nick Johnson, who scored the team's only goal. Johnson scored 13:06 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Jersey Shore. John Krapian picked up the assist. Dominic Lamanno made 27 saves for New England on 31 shots. New England incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
