Bittner's hat trick boosts Lewiston/Auburn over Maine, 10-2

Brett Bittner netted a hat trick to lead Lewiston/Auburn over Maine, 10-2.

Bittner got on the scoresheet 2:08 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:10 into the second and at 3:25 into the third.

Lewiston/Auburn led 5-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

Maine's six penalties came back to haunt it, as Maine let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Lewiston/Auburn forced Maine's goalies to work in net, taking 47 shots and forcing 37 saves. Robson Stewart made nine stops and William Dunham made 28. Lewiston/Auburn put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Maine to score on any of its three power plays. Lewiston/Auburn surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Lewiston/Auburn averages 4.2 goals per game. The defensemen of Lewiston/Auburn were also effective in Maine's zone, and came away with two goals.

Lewiston/Auburn also got points from Walker Hamilton, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Dylan Vrees, who also had one goal and three assists, and Colby Siering, who also racked up two goals and two assists. Lewiston/Auburn also had goals scored by Simon Corriveau, Alexander Friend, and Laim McGrath, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Lewiston/Auburn were Tyler Sheridan, Kyle Secor, Jon Paul Chauvin, Mark Ferullo, Jordan Crowe, and Cam DuFault, who contributed one each.

Others who scored for Maine included Sedrick Simons and Cooper OBrien, who each put in one. In addition, Maine received assists from Jordy Knoren, Ryder Parkhurst, and Greg Terlov, who each chipped in one.

Claes Endre rejected 13 shots on goal for Lewiston/Auburn. Lewiston/Auburn incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Maine incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
