Jersey Shore rolls over Syracuse, 8-1

Jersey Shore had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-1 win over Syracuse.

Jersey Shore was led by goalie Scott Albertoni, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Albertoni certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.98 entering the contest.

Jersey Shore was paced by Zach Roth, who finished with one goal. Roth scored 13:43 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Jersey Shore. Christian Cooley picked up the assist.

Jersey Shore managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Jersey Shore ended up below its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. Jersey Shore's offense rang up 54 shots on Syracuse's net.

Jersey Shore additionally got points from Cooley, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Frederic Ampleman, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Jersey Shore included Bogdan Khvatov, who had two and Travis Valvo, Freddie Schaljo, and Dylan Plsek, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Jersey Shore were Frederic Villeneuve, who had three, Ben Wingbermuehle, Jared Karas, and Tyler Goclan, who contributed one each, and Scott Hansen and Alexander Tan, who each chipped in two.

Syracuse excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Syracuse was led by Brendan Sand, who scored the team's only goal. Sand scored 5:18 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Jersey Shore. Kelsey Head provided the assist.

Kyle VanWagner recorded 46 saves for Syracuse. Syracuse incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
