Huge game by Linquito boosts Skylands over Wilkes-Barre, 6-3

Alex Linquito was all over the ice for Skylands, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Skylands' 6-3 win over Wilkes-Barre.

Linquito scored at 15:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Skylands and again while on the power play 9:45 into the second to make the score 4-2 Skylands.

Wilkes-Barre's power play was ineffective against Skylands' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Skylands forced Wilkes-Barre's goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 42 shots and forcing 36 saves. Devin Peterson made 21 stops and Mathieu Beaudet made 15.

Skylands also got points from Cory Decosta, who also registered one goal and two assists and Joshua Mead, who also racked up three goals and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Skylands came via Hunter Ledwith, who had one.

Wilkes-Barre's offense rang up 42 shots on Skylands' net.

Wilkes-Barre was helped by Derrick Wruble, who had one goal and two assists. Wruble scored 7:45 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Skylands. Tanner Kahlau assisted on the tally. Wilkes-Barre additionally got points from Ryan Flanagan, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Wilkes-Barre also got a goal from Connor Landregan as well. In addition, Wilkes-Barre received assists from Brett Welsh, who had one.

Ryan Bartholomew recorded 39 saves for Skylands. Skylands totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. Wilkes-Barre incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
