New England squeaks by Maine, 4-3

The game between New England and Maine was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end New England emerged with a 4-3 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Hunter McTague's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

New England got the win on the strength of a great game by McTague, who had two goals and one assist. McTague scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:51 into the third period to make the score 3-3. New England had taken the advantage when Maine's Ryder Parkhurst got sent off for holding. Kyle Weiss picked up the assist. McTague's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 New England with 9:12 left in the third period. New England had gotten the advantage when Maine's Dylan Farrell- Reny was sent off for tripping. Mitchell Fehd assisted on the tally.

New England kept Maine's goalie busy throughout the game, and Robson Stewart made 38 saves on 42 shots. New England capitalized on Maine's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage. New England got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

New England also got points from Fehd, who also had one goal and one assist. New England also got a goal from John Krapian as well. Other players who recorded assists for New England were Arya Saliany, Steve Crocker, Ian McNamara, Jake Latham, and Brandon Hamner, who each chipped in one.

Maine was helped by Matt Jerome, who finished with one goal. Jerome scored 42 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Maine. Noel Fischer provided the assist. Maine additionally got points from Zach Gagne, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jordy Knoren also scored for Maine. In addition, Maine received assists from Collin Fader, who had two and Shayne Plummer and Greg Terlov, who contributed one each.

Robbie Campbell rejected 21 shots on goal for New England. New England incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Maine incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
