Cape Cod wins tough contest against Skylands, 5-3Falmouth Sat, Nov 21, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Cape Cod and Skylands were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Cape Cod made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Maxime Dordet secured the win for Cape Cod with a goal in the third period. Cape Cod kept Skylands' goalie busy throughout the game, and Evan Barghout made 31 saves on 36 shots. Cape Cod was led by Chuck Costello, who registered two goals. Costello scored the first of his two goals at 4:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mike Jessman picked up the assist. Costello's next tally made the score 3-3 with 19:39 left in the third period. Aaron Deady provided the assist. Cape Cod also got points from Anthony Giannelli, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Karl-Eric Demers also scored for Cape Cod. More assists for Cape Cod came via James Brosnan, Thomas Tobey, and Eric Szeker, who contributed one each. Skylands was led by Ernest Komarnitskii, who had two goals. Komarnitskii scored the first of his two goals at 3:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Skylands. Alex Linquito assisted on the tally. Komarnitskii's next tally made the score 3-2 Skylands with 3:05 left in the second period. Skylands had taken the advantage when Cape Cod's Dan Moore got sent off for interference. Linquito picked up the assist. Skylands also got a goal from Aaron Segnello as well. In addition, Skylands received assists from Cole Skelly, Tim Vant, Cory Decosta, and Alec Sanchez, who each chipped in one. Anton Zemba made 13 saves for Cape Cod on 16 shots. Cape Cod incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Skylands incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
