Skylands downs Northeast in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Skylands' Cory Decosta scored 1:58 into overtime to beat Northeast, 4-3 (OT).

Decosta was all over the ice for Skylands, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Decosta scored the first of his two goals at 17:14 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Hunter Ledwith provided the assist. Decosta's next tally made the score 4-3 Skylands with 18:02 left in overtime. Ledwith picked up the assist.

Skylands managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Skylands finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Northeast was unable to stop Skylands from sending pucks towards the net, and Skylands eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

Skylands additionally got points from Ledwith, who also finished with one goal and three assists. Skylands also got a goal from Ernest Komarnitskii as well. Other players who recorded assists for Skylands were Cole Skelly and Alex Linquito, who each chipped in one.

Northeast excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Northeast forced Skylands goalie Mathias Yttereng to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Northeast was led by Reed Mancovsky, who tallied two goals. Mancovsky scored the first of his two goals at 14:55 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kevin Perry provided the assist. Mancovsky's next tally made the score 3-2 Northeast with 1:58 left in the second period. Luke Whalen assisted on the tally. Alex ODowd also scored for Northeast. In addition, Northeast received assists from Paul MacDonald, Conor Harrington, and Tommy Bellew, who contributed one each.

Yttereng recorded 29 saves for Skylands. Trevor Trudeau rejected 45 shots on goal for Northeast. Northeast incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
