Jean-Louis' goals lift New York to 4-1 victory over Syracuse

New York relied on the scoring touch of Nick Jean-Louis, who netted two goals, to beat Syracuse, 4-1.

Jean-Louis found the back of the net 1:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New York and again while 4:57 into the second to make the score 2-1 New York.

New York was led by goalie Stephen Mundinger, who finished with 32 saves while allowing one goal. Mundinger managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.02 prior to the game.

New York excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. New York kept Syracuse's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Scheide made 40 saves on 44 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals.

New York additionally got points from Ricky Regala, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, New York received assists from Corey Rees and Phillip Garcia, who each chipped in one and Robert Kalata and Jimmy Warrick, who contributed two each.

New York was unable to stop Syracuse from sending pucks towards the net, and Syracuse eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Syracuse was led by Raymond Falso, who scored the team's only goal. Falso scored 18:07 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nicholas Sanborn assisted on the tally.

New York incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Syracuse incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
