Northeast beat Maine, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. A goal 18:52 into the first period by Austin Braley proved to be the game winner, and powered Northeast to the victory. Alex ODowd assisted on the tally.Northeast got the win thanks to a great game by Braley, who had two goals and one assist. Northeast was led by goalie Leo Lake, who finished with 37 saves while allowing one goal. Lake certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.91 entering the contest. Northeast found itself short handed often, totaling 58 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays. Northeast also got a goal from John Catania as well. Maine racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 51 minutes in penalty time. Maine surpassed its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Maine stifled Northeast's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Maine forced Northeast goalie Lake to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Maine was led by Jordy Knoren, who scored the team's only goal. Knoren scored on the power play 18:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Maine had gained a power play chance when Kyle Hoxie was whistled for slashing. Zach Gagne picked up the assist. Northeast registered zero goals on seven power play opportunities. William Dunham rejected 20 shots on goal for Maine.
