Jersey Shore takes care of East Coast early, wins 15-0

East Coast fell behind early, and Jersey Shore kept piling on the points on the way to a 15-0 victory.

Travis Valvo was all over the ice for Jersey Shore, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Valvo scored the first of his two goals at 7:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Shore. Alexander Tan provided the assist. Valvo's next tally made the score 2-0 Jersey Shore with 9:42 left in the first period. Jersey Shore had taken the advantage when East Coast's Mason Smith got sent off for interference. Freddie Schaljo assisted on the tally.

East Coast's seven penalties came back to haunt it, as East Coast let up six goals while on the penalty kill.

Jersey Shore forced East Coast's goalies to work all game long, totaling 55 shots and forcing 40 saves. Aidan Critchlow made 21 stops and Travis Spangle made 19. Jersey Shore excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Jersey Shore featured an improved defense during the game. Jersey Shore averages 2.2 goals allowed per game. Jersey Shore bested its season scoring average. Jersey Shore averages 6.3 goals per game. Jersey Shore's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

Jersey Shore also got points from Christian Cooley, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Drew Brown, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Schaljo, who also had one goal and two assists, JaColbie McGowan, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Dylan Plsek, who also tallied two goals and two assists. Jersey Shore also got a goal from Scott Hansen as well. In addition, Jersey Shore received assists from Craig Berry, who had one, Marcus McCall, who had three, Frederic Ampleman, who had four, Jared Karas, who had five, and Ben Wingbermuehle, Michael Fary, and Bogdan Khvatov, who contributed two each.

East Coast forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game East Coast had been spending in the box. East Coast was held below its usual level of production. East Coast averages 2.8 goals per game. Jersey Shore's defense shut down East Coast's forwards for much of the game, and East Coast got off only four shots during the contest.

Breadan Colgan made four saves for Jersey Shore on four shots. Jersey Shore ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
