Skylands tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but Syracuse would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Hunter Soden put Syracuse up 3-1 in the third period, but Skylands pulled to within one on Hunter Ledwith's tally 9:41 into the third period.

Syracuse was led by Soden, who racked up one goal. Soden scored 6:07 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Syracuse. Raymond Rowe assisted on the tally.

Syracuse kept Skylands' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Bartholomew made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Syracuse also had goals scored by Raymond Falso and Rocco DeRollo, who each put in one. In addition, Syracuse received assists from Jag Masters and Nicholas Sanborn, who each chipped in one.

Skylands stifled Syracuse's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Skylands' offense operated below its season average. Skylands averages 4.1 goals per game. Syracuse was unable to stop Skylands from sending pucks towards the net, and Skylands eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.
