Wilkes-Barre falls to Syracuse after surprising comeback

Syracuse climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat Wilkes-Barre, 4-3.

Syracuse never led in the game until netting the game winner. Syracuse fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Wilkes-Barre's Ryan Flanagan at 10:37 in the third period. Syracuse knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Rocco DeRollo at 14:40 in the third period. Syracuse scored the game winner at 19:31 in the third period on a goal by DeRollo.

Nicholas Sanborn was all over the ice for Syracuse, as he registered two goals in the win.

Wilkes-Barre was unable to stop Syracuse from sending pucks towards the net, and Syracuse eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. Syracuse cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances.

In addition, Syracuse received assists from Jag Masters, who had two and Matthew Emerick and Raymond Rowe, who each chipped in one.

Wilkes-Barre's offense rang up 37 shots on Syracuse's net.

Wilkes-Barre was helped by Kenny Myers, who tallied one goal. Myers scored 11:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wilkes-Barre. More assists for Wilkes-Barre came via Richard Zemanek, who had one.

Syracuse's Kyle VanWagner stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Syracuse incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Nolan Bivolcic made 48 saves for Wilkes-Barre on 52 shots. Wilkes-Barre incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
