New England beat East Coast, 2-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. A goal 59 seconds into the first period by John Krapian proved to be the game winner, and powered New England to the victory. Aidan Conlon assisted on the tally.East Coast's power play was ineffective against New England's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. New England was led by Brandon Hamner, who had one goal. Hamner scored 4:24 into the second period to make the score 2-0 New England. Mitchell Fehd picked up the assist. New England excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in nine chances. New England forced East Coast goalie Aidan Critchlow to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. New England also got points from Krapian, who also racked up one goal and one assist. East Coast stifled New England's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. East Coast found itself short handed often, totaling 28 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays. East Coast was led by Jon Mathieu, who scored the team's only goal. Mathieu scored short handed 8:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 New England. East Coast was on a disadvantage when Mason Smith went off the ice for interference. Andrew Irving provided the assist. Dominic Lamanno made 22 saves for New England on 23 shots. New England incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
