CT Wolfpack (MM) wins tough contest against Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM), 4-2

CT Wolfpack (MM) and Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) were evenly matched throughout their contest, but CT Wolfpack (MM) made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Gavin Gray at 3:00 of the second period.

ZACHARY WAGNER had two goals to lead CT Wolfpack (MM) to victory. WAGNER scored at 5:30 into the second period to make the score 3-1 CT Wolfpack (MM) and again while 16:02 into the third to make the score 4-2 CT Wolfpack (MM).

CT Wolfpack (MM) managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. CT Wolfpack (MM) ended up below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. CT Wolfpack (MM) kept Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM)'s goalie busy throughout the game, and Rob Ivy made 32 saves on 36 shots. CT Wolfpack (MM) got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

CT Wolfpack (MM) additionally got points from Gray, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Remi Selerier also scored for CT Wolfpack (MM). More assists for CT Wolfpack (MM) came via Eugene Lim, who had four and Ryan Gil and Peter Dziergas, who contributed one each.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) forced CT Wolfpack (MM) goalie Tripp Hutchinson to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) was helped by Matthew Poindexter, who had one goal. Poindexter scored on the power play 13:05 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) earned a power play opportunity when Charles Wilson was put in the box for slashing. Julian Timba assisted on the tally. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) also got a goal from Paul Selleck as well. In addition, Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) received assists from Andre Ghantous and Jack Sitzman, who each chipped in one.

CT Wolfpack (MM)'s Hutchinson stopped 43 shots out of the 45 that he faced. CT Wolfpack (MM) registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
