Nepean blows out Cumberland, 4-1Navan Memorial Centre Fri, Feb 19, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cumberland Grads had trouble finding ways to stop the Nepean Raiders, which beat Grads, 4-1. Nepean was led by goalie Francis Marotte, who finished with 43 saves while allowing one goal. Marotte managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.97 prior to the game. The Raiders were paced by Rowan Savidant, who racked up one goal and one assist. Savidant scored 12:46 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Nepean. Josh Zizek assisted on the tally. Nepean also got points from Hunter Garlasco, who also registered one goal and two assists and Mike Finger, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kari Belec also scored for Nepean. More assists for Nepean came via Blake Dalton, who had one. Cumberland could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Grads put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Cumberland's offense rang up 44 shots on Nepean's net. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Grads' starting goalie, Ryan Coughlin, made 14 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Thierry Messervier, who stopped seven shots.
