Cornwall boosted by Lascelle's play in net, beats Brockville 2-1Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Feb 19, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Liam Lascelle helped the Cornwall Colts defeat the Brockville Braves, 2-1. Cornwall was led by Tristan Conrad, who registered one goal. Conrad scored on the power play 2:50 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. The Colts had gotten the advantage when Brockville's Christopher Mammas was sent off for hooking. Sebastian Dirven picked up the assist. Cornwall's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Brockville power plays. The Colts forced the Braves goalie Henry Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Cornwall also got a goal from Keegan Mulhearn as well. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Matthew Morin and Jeremy McFarlane, who each chipped in one. Brockville was held below its usual level of production. The Braves average 3.2 goals per game. Brockville was led by Michael Murray, who scored the team's only goal. Murray scored 18:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Andrew Jarvis assisted on the tally. Lascelle recorded 29 saves for Cornwall. The Colts incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Braves' Johnson stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Brockville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
