Ottawa falls to Pembroke in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Pembroke Lumber Kings pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Ottawa Senators on a clutch goal by Derek Varrin.

Pembroke was led by Varrin, who finished with one goal and one assist. Varrin scored 3:41 into overtime to make the score 4-3 Pembroke.

The Lumber Kings' offense rang up 31 shots on Ottawa's net.

Others who scored for Pembroke included Ben VanOoteghem, Alex Gilmour, and Justin Felhaber, who each put in one. More assists for Pembroke came via Fraser Turner, Cale List, Tyler ONeill, Adam Beveridge, and Brett Horn, who contributed one each.

The Senators were helped by Zachary Cross, who tallied one goal. Cross scored 11:10 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Ottawa. Brett Van Stralen assisted on the tally. Ottawa additionally got points from Jody Sullivan, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mitchell Gibson also scored for Ottawa. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Isaac Anderson and Elie Boulerice, who each chipped in one.

Pembroke's Boyd Diclemente stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Lumber Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Marcus Paulino made 27 saves for Ottawa on 31 shots. The Senators incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
